Best Quote During Tasting
I'm not even sure you have to read between the lines that much on the name of this one.
Aroma - Sticky resin and a bit of green onion (in a good way) are very dominant. Juicy hops are there too, (pick from grapefruit, orange, whatever you want, it's all there somehow). It's hard to find malts past the hops but they're slight caramel and bread crust.
Appearance - It's a cloudy gold with a thin white head that never fully leaves and is made up of tight bubbles.
Flavor - I'm getting the same exact characteristics in the flavor that I did on the nose: sticky resin, citrus and green onion (in a good way). The hops are a bit more aggressive here with a bitterness that the malts can't quite match but that's okay with me. The alcohol is there (as it should be) but it helps with the hops, it's not overpowering.
Mouthfeel - The body is medium+ and the carbonation is medium. It sits on the tongue nicely and has a smooth finish.
Overall Impression - We've reviewed the base beer for this, Resin, a while ago and it was a good one. This one did not disappoint by taking that same beer, leaving it unfiltered and dry hopping the hell out of it. There was a green onion flavor/aroma in this one that wasn't present in Resin and I can only assume it was from the drop hopping. However, I thought it added to the beer. If you're able to score a can, don't Bogart it. Pass the puff.
