Brewery: Dogfish Head |
Name of Beer: Lupu Luau |
Beer Style: IPA |
Description: The story of Lupu-Luau began when Sam was hanging outside with coworkers during an overly-sunny day. One present coworker in particular was lacking heavily in the melanin department, to put it lightly. A friendly joke about a total tan aversion led to this legendary comment, “You can say it, Sam, I’m pale as f**k.” The brewer in Sam thought that would make a cool name for a super pale beer. From there the wheels started turning and the iterative R&D process began. Sam set out to make a hazy, overly pale, beer but the test batches weren’t quite there yet. However, during that process, he found out how great coconuts work in an IPA and decided that the new goal was to make an IPA using as much coconut as possible. We started with a combination of Pils malt with flaked barley, rolled oats, and malted and raw wheat to get it all hazy. Then we introduced coconuts three ways by adding toasted coconut, dehydrated coconut water and an experimental hop variety that provides a unique coconut & woody aroma. The result? A lupulin-loaded, coconut-centric ale. Our Lupu-Luau IPA! 6 pack bottles |

Brewer: New Glarus/De Proefbruwerij |
Name of Beer: Abtsolution |
Beer Style: Quadrupel |
Description: We are thrilled to welcome Daniel Carey of New Glarus Brewing as our 11th annual partner in this series. A long-time student of classic Belgian ales and early practitioner of Belgian-style brewing among American brewers, Daniel brings a rich and divers background to this collaboration. In the true spirit of the project, we have created a beer based on the classic Belgian Abt style, with unique Wisconsin contributions including Santiam and Chinook hops. To further highlight the Dairy State we’ve added lactose for extra mouthfeel and richness. The result is a dark ale with fruity esters, a velvety smooth palate and balancing wood notes from our use of French and American oak along with spicy hop notes. This ale is designed to drink now, but we believe will evolve beautifully over the next 1-2 years. 750 ml bottle |

Ophelia is a delightfully balanced hoppy wheat ale featuring Mosaic and Palisade hops that lend aromas of mango, papaya, and guava. We let Ophelia rest in fresh tequila barrels for 3 ½ months to create something entirely new. The barrels bring out the subtle sweetness of the malts while contributing aromas of tequila and oak. A peppery and crisp mouthfeel offsets subtle, sweet, fruit flavors. 22 ounce bottle
