Brewery: Urban Chestnut |
Location: St. Louis, MO |
Name of Beer: Moon Monkey |
Beer Style: Ale Brewed With Rice and Ginger |
ABV: 5.0% |
Our Thoughts: People born in the year of the monkey are said to be intelligent, clever, gregarious, skilled and smart. These could all be adjectives to describe the brewing team at Urban Chestnut. They've proven time and time again that they can conquer any beer style. This new offering sees them stepping out on a limb and throwing fresh ginger and rice into the brew kettle, along with Mandarina hops. The results will surely tickle your taste buds. Don't monkey around! Grab cans of this as soon as they become available. |

Brewery: Logboat |
Location: Columbia, MO |
Name of Beer: Amarillo By Morning |
Beer Style: Pale Ale |
ABV: 6.0% |
Our Thoughts: Any George Strait fans out there? Well, let's have a "Cold Beer Conversation" about Amarillo By Morning, a new beer from one of our favorite breweries, Logboat. Amarillo hops have recently became one of the top 10 hop varieties used by craft brewers due to their excellent dual purpose uses for aroma and flavors. Look for classic Amarillo notes of grapefruit, orange, lemon, melon, apricot and peach. We have a sneaking suspicion this will be packaged in cans in the future, but for right now make sure you "Stop and Drink" this at your local establishment of choice. |

Brewery: 4 Hands |
Location: St. Louis, MO |
Name of Beer: Hopeless Romantic |
Beer Style: Ale brewed with Hull Melon hops |
ABV: 6.0% |
Our Thoughts: For hopeless romantic, life=love. For 4 Hands, their beers=delicious. Hopeless Romantic will surely be another notch in their belt for providing outstanding brews to all of us beer lovers. The Hull Melon hop is a German hop varietal that arrived on the scene in 2012. A daughter Cascade, it produces flavors not commonly associated with hops, notably honeydew melon and strawberry and can be intensely fruity. It's perfectly suited for Pale Ales, IPA's and Wheat Ales. Find out where this is pouring and go share a pint with the special someone in your life. |

Brewery: Public House |
Location: St. James, MO |
Name of Beer: St. Boniface |
Beer Style: Bock |
ABV: 5.6% |
Our Thoughts: One of the many patron saints of beer and breweries, Saint Boniface is an extremely popular name for breweries and beers, for obvious reasons. Public House has chosen to honor him with a new bock beer. A bock is a bottom fermenting lager that traces it's roots back to medieval German monasteries. Bocks tend to have an assertive malt presence with light hop flavors. Hoist a bottle to honor Saint Boniface and to partake of a historic beer style. Prost! |

Brewery: Mother's |
Location: Springfield, MO |
Name of Beer: Lime Gose |
Beer Style: Gose |
ABV: 4.8% |
Our Thoughts: Up next in their Backyard Beers series, Mother's is releasing a Lime Gose. The use of lactobacillus provides the classic clean, sour and tangy flavors of a gose, while the addition of kaffir lime leaves, lime zest and salt make this as close to a margarita in a 16 ounce can that you can get. This sounds like the perfect refreshment for the upcoming Missouri summer. We're looking forward to Mother's take on this classic German style. |
