Brewery: Narrow Gauge |
Location: Florissant, MO |
Name of Beer: King Fallen Flag |
Beer Style: Imperial IPA |
ABV: 8.6% |
Our Thoughts: Look out, St. Louis. There's a new King of beers coming to town. Narrow Gauge, the crown jewel of Florissant, will soon be gracing us with King Fallen Flag, an Imperial IPA. This is presumably a bigger version of Fallen Flag, their IPA dry hopped with Citra and Mosaic hops, which is already one of the most highly sought after beers brewed in STL right now. Fallen Flag is phenomenal as it is, so to say we're excited to see an imperial version is a gross understatement. This can't get here soon enough. Follow Narrow Gauge's social media feeds for release details. |

Brewery: Third Wheel |
Location: St. Peters, MO |
Name of Beer: Port Barrel Aged Porter |
Beer Style: Porter |
ABV: 7.2% |
Our Thoughts: A new year brings with it new beers. For Third Wheel, it means a bounty of exciting things, including the start of their barrel aging program. First out of the gates in that series looks to be a port barrel aged porter. Port barrels will bring raspberry, blackberry, and caramel flavors to the porter, plus wood and vanilla characteristics from the barrel itself. Barrel aged beers are always a hit, as it's fun to see what time + beer+ barrels adds up to. We're willing to wager it adds up to awesomeness. |
