Our Thoughts: Have you ever wanted to break the shackles of your responsibilities and obligations? To just leave all of your cares and duties behind? To drop out of life with bomber in hand and follow the hops to the beer filled land? Well, we think we've found the perfect companion to your journey. BKS Artisan Ales, the soon to open brewery in the Brookside neighborhood of Kansas City, will be packaging Dereliction, their 11% ABV beast of an Imperial Stout, in 22 ounce bottles. We're hoping to see this beer spend time in barrels as well. Keep watching social media for the opening details of the brewery and Dereliction release details. |

Brewery: Boulevard |
Location: Kansas City, MO |
Name of Beer: Tough Kitty |
Beer Style: Milk Stout |
ABV: 5.5% |
Our Thoughts: To quote legendary metal drummer and massive craft beer enthusiast Dave Witte, "When in doubt, drink a stout!" This oft overlooked style might not be as popular as it's big brother imperial stout, but it's been a staple for breweries for over 300 years. The milk stout is only a mere century old, but it still holds it's own against the hop crazed brews churned out today, in our opinion. The name milk stout comes from the addition of sweet and unfermentable lactose sugar, making the brews full bodied, sweet and roasty. We're excited to see Boulevard shining the spotlight on one of our favorite styles. Look for six packs this new seasonal beer to hit the shelves in September. |

Brewery: 2nd Shift |
Location: St. Louis, MO |
Name of Beer: Jerf Juice |
Beer Style: Belgian-style Witbier |
ABV: 5.3% |
Our Thoughts: If you're a weirdo like us, you start your weekday morning with The Rizzuto Show on 105.7 The Point. Rizzuto, Moon, Patrico, Jeff Burton and 8 Ball bring levity, shenanigans and mirth to our morning commute. That's why we're extra psyched to feature this collaboration with 2nd Shift, one of our favorite local breweries. The label artwork stems from a "Real or Fake" competition punishment from last November, in which the loser (Jeff Burton) was painted, that was held at Wine and Design in Sunset Hills. 2nd Shift provided the beer for the event. That has culminated in 2nd Shift bringing us Jerf Juice, a Belgian-style witbier brewed with coriander and orange peel. The name is a nod to Jerf, Jeff's creepster alter ego. Sounds like a winner to us! To make all of this even better, a portion of all proceeds will be donated to the ALS Association of St. Louis. Follow 2nd Shift on social media and tune in to The Rizzuto Show for release details. |

Brewery: Mother's |
Location: Springfield, MO |
Name of Beer: Imperial Grind |
Beer Style: Imperial Coffee Stout |
ABV: 10.5% |
Our Thoughts: Mother's Winter Grind is a perpetual favorite seasonal release. This English Dry Stout uses locally roasted Mudhouse coffee to bring bold espresso aromas and flavors to complement the roasty English barley. In our opinion, it's one of the better winter seasonals on the market. Never one to rest on their laurels, Mother's has taken Winter Grind and turned the volume up to 11! They're gracing us with Imperial Grind, a 10.5% ABV Imperial Coffee Ale. Look for all of your favorite characteristics of Winter Grind, but taken to the extreme. No matter what the time of year, this is sure to satisfy. |
