Brewery: 4 Hands Brewery & Narrow Gauge (collaboration)
Location: St. Louis, MO
Name of Beer: Table IPA
Beer Style: Session IPA
Our Thoughts: 4 Hands and Narrow Gauge have both definitely shown they have mastered the IPA and Imperial IPA category. We don't think anyone would argue with us when we say that War Hammer, Cash Mony, Courage, OJ Run, Fallen Flag and Cloud City are all outstanding examples of the style. When these two juggernauts combine forces, there's not telling what greatness will be unleashed. That's why we're confident the collaboration between the two to produce this new session IPA will be a wonder to behold. This one was made with oat flakes, Citra, Columbus, El Dorado, Galaxy, Mosaic and Simcoe hops. This will most likely be draft only and definitely will be HIGHLY sought after, so keep watching for release details.
Brewery: Piney River
Location: Bucyrus, MO
Name of Beer: Missouri Waltz
Beer Style: Oak Aged Sour Ale
Our Thoughts: Piney River has proven that they aren't afraid to tackle any beer style. From imperial stouts to blonde ales, they produce a solid representation of both classic and experimental styles. Missouri Waltz sees them throw their hat into the sour game. This beer is fermented with Brettanomyces and Pediococcus, which, when used together, provide classic funky, earthy, sour flavors. Keeping it local, they've aged it in Missouri Oak barrels. Look for this to be packaged in 375 ml bottles. We're excited to see what magic Piney River can produce.
Location: Kansas City, MO
Name of Beer: Collaboration No. 7
Beer Style: Oak Aged Lager
Our Thoughts: The goal of Boulevard's collaboration series is to work with brewers they have respect for, to learn new techniques while utilizing each brewer's strengths. For Collaboration No. 7, Boulevard has teamed up with their friends from Arizona Wilderness Brewing in Gilbert, Arizona and Creature Comforts Brewing Company in Athens, Georgia. We'll let Boulevard take it from here: "This lager features a malt bill composed of pale malt, Sonoran White Wheat, Missouri wheat, honey malt and corn grits. The wort will be hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Lemondrop and Hallertau Blanc hops while additions of Riesling juice and peach puree will accent the sweet fruitiness suggested by the chosen hops. Aged briefly on virgin oak during fermentation, the collaboration beer will receive peach puree and lemon zest just before packaging. Finishing the beer with champagne yeast in bottle conditioning will produce a slightly effervescent golden lager that showcases regional ingredients from each brewery’s home state." Sounds like a doozy to us! Look for an August release.
