What’s the beer that got you hooked on craft beer?
Home Brew Kit Amber Ale I brewed in Australia in 2004.
If you weren’t a brewer, what would you be doing for a living?
I spent the first 10 years of my career in management consulting helping companies operate more efficiently and designing and implementing growth strategies to help them grow so I’d probably still be working in that field.
What’s an upcoming beer that you’re excited to release?
We’ve just released two beers that I really love. First is an 8% Robust Porter with Ancho Chilies. It has really smooth, chocolaty, earthy tones with just a hint of spiciness at the end. The 2nd is a 6% stout with Guatemalan coffee beans and Vermont maple syrup added in secondary. We’ve also been working on some limited release barrel aged beers that will be coming out soon…watch this space!
Who would you love to do a collaboration with?
So many great breweries out there that we really respect, but we’ve been so busy trying to keep up with how thirsty St. Louis is at the moment. It would be fun to do something with American Solera or Transient. Maybe Off Color. There are a few local friends we’d also love to do collabs with so again, watch this space!
What’s the one beer that’s always in your fridge?
We’ve got a ton of beer in our fridge we never get around to drinking that we end up cellaring. We’ve got a lot of European beers, various beers from some of the newer South African breweries. There’s always something from 4 Hands in there.
Describe your brewery in 140 characters or less:
‘We’re a brewery with international flair striving to put forth the best beers for an awesomely thirsty market. Cheers!’ OR we live by the motto, “There are no such things as strangers, only friends you haven’t met yet—Cheers!”
