Name: Andy Hille
Title: Grand Llama
Brewery: Rockwell Beer Co.
Brewhouse Size: 5-gallon (soon-to-be 15 barrel)
Years as a Professional Brewer: 6 years
What’s the beer that got you hooked on craft beer?
Odell 90 Schilling. I was born in Fort Collins, and have family that work in the industry. I grew up very familiar with craft beer.
If you weren’t a brewer, what would you be doing for a living?
Selling sneakers on the internet. There are a lot of similarities between shoes and beer right now. Long lines, big name collaborations, secondary resale markets, and devout fanbases are all commonplace in both worlds.
What’s an upcoming beer that you’re excited to release?
I’ve got a hoppy lager that I am dying to brew (and can!). I’m also really excited to see our oak program develop from the ground up.
Who would you love to do a collaboration with?
I’m really digging the vibe of Hoof Hearted out of Marengo, Ohio. I feel like they “get” me and we’ve never even met before.
What’s the one beer that’s always in your fridge?
They don’t last long, but I’ve been keeping a steady supply of UCBC Stammtisch Pils cans.
