Yeah, he looked like he was old as shit, for sure.
Justin:
Aroma - Orange zest and a little resin is right there. The malts are sweet and there's bread crust that's prominent. |
Score: 9/12 |
Appearance - It's a clear, light gold with a dense, fluffy white head that stays on top of the beer the entire time you drink it. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - There's pine here that I didn't get much in the nose. The bitterness is fairly big and the beer leans that way. The malts are pie crust and wheat bread and the finish is slightly dry. |
Score: 15/20 |
Mouthfeel - The carbonation and body are both medium and it's slightly creamy. |
Score: 3/5 |
Overall Impression - This one was a pickup by my sister as she traveled through Tennessee. I was expecting more with this one. It was a middle of the road IPA that I wouldn't be disappointed with at a bar but I probably would move on after a pint. |
Score: 7/10 |
Blake:
Aroma - Hops are mainly floral and citrus. The malt backbone is pretty strong as well with a lot of grain character coming across as a bit of bread crust. |
Score: 9/12 |
Appearance - A beautiful golden color that boasts great clarity and a frothy white head that leaves lacing all the way down. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor -The hops lean more towards bitter with lots of resin and pine. The citrus is there, but not as prominent as it needs to be. Malt backbone is strong with some sweet caramel notes and bread crust. |
Score: 15/20 |
Mouthfeel - Body is just under medium with medium carbonation. |
Score: 3/5 |
Overall Impression - Wiseacre makes some really solid stuff, and while this was good, it didn't reach the heights of some of their other beers. They are part of a craft beer scene in Tennessee that is exploding right now, so keep your eye out for more other their quality beers. |
Score: 7/10 |
