Best Quote During Tasting
If you had to pick Scrubs or How I Met Your Mother, what would you pick?
I would probably pick Breaking Bad and stop being your friend.
Justin:
Aroma - It's like a virgin margarita. It's like the salted lime waiting for you after you down a tequila shot. If you didn't get it yet, it's salty and smells like lime. The lime is nice, it's bright and juicy and the slightest bit of sulfur lingers. There's also a sweetness that comes in behind it all to remind you that it's still a beer.e |
Score: 9/12 |
Appearance - This one is a hazy light gold with a thing, sparkling head that quickly goes away, leaving nothing but a white ring around the edges. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - The can literally says "citrusy, sour, delicious" and I can't argue. The tartness of the style coupled with the lime's citrus and the tartness it brings to the table play incredibly well together. The salt brings out the brightness of the lime and the malts that are there play their part in adding enough sweetness so that all those other flavors aren't overwhelming. |
Score: 18/20 |
Mouthfeel - The carbonation is medium+ and the body is medium for a nice tongue tingling feel. The salt brings a mouth watering aspect that is nice and refreshing. |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - This may be one of my favorite goses I've had. It definitely leaves your mouth puckered and that's not a bad thing. Westbrook is a brewery that gets a lot of hype and I must say that a lot of it is deserved. They're making some good beers and I'm always happy to get my hands on some. |

This was not found locally was it? Would love to able to track their stuff down around here.
You’re correct, it was not a local find. This one was a product of a recent beer trade. It’s a SC brewery and they distribute pretty widely along the east coast but unfortunately, they skip us in the middle of the country.
