Best Quote During Tasting
Sorry. I just got a weird plate of meatballs.
Justin:
Aroma - Damn is this "juicy." Citrusy (grapefruit and orange peel), fruity and somewhat dank but mostly just "juicy." |
Score: 11/12 |
Appearance - Not quite clear with a nice pale gold color. A soft white head sits on top and doesn't go away. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - Wowza. It's got a great balance, but the hops are ridiculous in this beer. I've used the words a few times already and I'll use it again, it's very, very juicy. The juiciness is from the hops alone and the balance is spot on. It's all damn near perfect. |
Score: 19/20 |
Mouthfeel - Slightly dry finish with medium carbonation. |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - This beer is hyped for a reason. I firmly believe that in a blind taste test, this beer would score the exact same for me. TG uses 100% citra hops in the beer so it's no wonder that the aroma and flavor are just as juicy as can be. You may have to drive a few hours to get some, or have a kind buddy that brings it back for you (thanks, Matt) but by all means, if you have the chance to try it, do so. |

One of the best easy drinking pale ales on the market. Little earthy on the palate.
