They call it hop bursting.
Because they're good at marketing.
Aroma - Damn. It's like the hops were begging to be let out as soon as the can was opened. Big tangerine, mango, pineapple and grapefruit mix with some huge pine notes for an all hop aroma. If you look for malts, you'll find them but they're white bread if anything.
Appearance - The beer pours a nearly clear light gold with a thin white head that never gets above a finger high and never goes away.
Flavor - The tropical notes from this one are incredible. The same mango, tangerine and pineapple show up here with that grapefruit taking a back seat. The pine is big and there's a bit of resin that works its way into the game. In terms of balance, the malts are trying to do their job and they nearly succeed. The malts are again white bread only, not bringing anything but their sweetness to the table in an attempt to tame those bitter, fruity hops.
Mouthfeel - The carbonation is medium and body is just below medium. It's hard to get a bigger body with the lower ABV but that would've made this one a little nicer.
Overall Impression - It's not perfect but it is darn delicious. The amount of hops in this beer were advertised as big and they definitely didn't disappoint. My biggest complaint is in regards to the body but if that's the worst thing you can say about a beer, it's doing pretty well. Would this be an actual "go-to" for me? Probably not but if it's in a cooler at a party and up for grabs, I'm snagging one.
