I drink too much beer to be able to remember drinking the beers.
Aroma - Oh man. This has a great blend of caramel, burnt sugar, subtle oak and dark fruits (plum mostly).
Appearance - This one pours deep amber with a thin, khaki head made up of tight, small bubbles. It resides to a thin film but leaves great lacing.
Flavor - Oooh. There's some sneaky bourbon, a little oak, and a great mix of burnt sugar, caramel and slight vanilla. The dark fruits from the aroma are there but hard to find. The balance is amazing and is rounded out by a bit of an alcohol bite but for the style, it works.
Mouthfeel - Medium carbonation with a medium body and yet it's still slightly creamy.
Overall Impression - The balance was near perfect and this would make one hell of a great sipping beer. Drink this one over an hour and you'll love it as it warms up. The oak, bourbon and dark fruit character just gets bigger and bigger as the minutes go by.
