My mom would crush this.
Justin:
Aroma - Definitely your typical lager blast of sulfur up front, followed by a brief note of spiciness from either the yeast or hops. All dough and white bread from the malt. |
Score: 9/12 |
Appearance - Very pale with a thin white head that quickly goes away. |
Score: 2/3 |
Flavor - Has some sulfur in the flavor which wasn't expected. Not that it's offputting, it's just there. The sulfur actually livens it up a bit. Once swallowed, I get a faint bit of acetaldehyde lingering. |
Score: 15/20 |
Mouthfeel - Low-medium carbonation. Close to medium bodied on the low end. Dry finish. |
Score: 3/5 |
Overall Impression - This beer is PERFECT for anyone used to only drinking macros. It's the closet thing you're going to get to ud-bay ight-lay while still having a bit more flavor. For me, it's not something that I could see myself ordering more than one of at the bar. It's nice to drink and it goes down easy but after one, I would be searching for a more complex beer from the menu. As far as my family and friends are concerned, I could see keeping a 6 pack of this on hand for visitors. |

Blake:
Aroma - Sulfur and bread notes take the forefront here. Just lingering hint of spice. |
Score: 9/12 |
Appearance - Straw colored with a thin white head. |
Score: 2/3 |
Flavor - Bready malts dominate the flavor profile. The sulfur that is in the aroma is still there, but doesn't dominate the flavor as much as the aroma. |
Score: 14/20 |
Mouthfeel - Crisp, medium carbonation, medium body, and a dry finish. |
Score: 3/5 |
Overall Impression - Schlafly goes pretty straightforward with this one. It's a lager, so it isn't meant to blow you away with intense flavors. It good at what it does, but there still might be room for improvement. If I find myself out at the Taproom or Bottleworks in the near future and need something light to tide me over, I probably wouldn't pass this one up. |
Score: 7/10 |
