Joe Manganiello is every guys man crush.
Justin:
Aroma - A brief bit of sulfur is quickly followed by earthy and floral hops. The malts are there too as pie crust but the hops are what are most present. |
Score: 9/12 |
Appearance - A straw colored beer is capped by a dense, bright white cap of foam that clings to the glass and never gets below a quarter inch high. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - While this is a hop dominated beer, it's not "hoppy" in ways one might expect. The hops are subtle, earthy, floral and have a little spiciness to them. The malts are very well balanced and bring some pie crust and white bread notes to the table. Their sweetness is perfectly in line with the bitterness of the hops in that it it balances without overwhelming. |
Score: 16/20 |
Mouthfeel - The carbonation is medium and the body is just below medium. It's not as crisp as you'd expect and is more pillowy than biting. |
Score: 3/5 |
Overall Impression - This was a solid beer. Flavorful and light all at the same time. It's hard to impress people with lagers because they're such a delicate style but this is a damn good beer. It's not gonna jump to the top of anyone's must-have list but it will give people an appreciation for the style. Trust me, side by side next to a macro you'd pick this one every time. |
Score: 7/10 |
