Best Quote During Tasting
I wish I was Michael Phelps, not for the fame or medals, but because this dude eats literally whatever he wants all day long.
Aroma - Yowza. This one is pungent. It's like someone crossed a pot plant with a pine tree. Then they took that weedy pine tree back into the lab, and made it produce pineapples and tangerines. It's crazy. Good luck finding malts. These hops are huge.
Appearance - The beer is a clear, light gold and the head is fluffy and white. How fluffy was the head on this one? My almost 2 year old looked in my glass and said "ice cream?" Yeah. That's fluffy.
Flavor - Damn. The flavor is similar to everything I got on the nose but...unbelievably well balanced. The flavor is not nearly as striking as the aroma was but all the same characteristics are there: Big pine, big resin, and tropical fruits. The malt is sweet and pulls its weight when it comes to the balance. I really wish I could get past these hops to describe them better but it's damn hard to do. If you're twisting my arm to hear what they're about, it's just white bread.
Mouthfeel - The body is just over medium and the carbonation is medium. The beer is very soft and coats your tongue.
Overall Impression - My favorite one thus far (Enigma gets reviewed tomorrow) the hops were just BIG on this one. So much flavor, so much aroma and so much going on with them. It was awesome to get so much flavor from just one hop. I also really enjoyed how the aroma was huge but the flavor was balanced. That made the drinking experience a little more fun in my opinion. Great beer. Great hop.
