Is it because you can't remember or you are choosing not to? Either way, you owe me a bacon dog.
Justin:
Aroma - The initial aroma is of sweet peaches and citrusy hops. Some underliying graininess, bread dough character from the malt is perceptible. Yeast is slightly white peppery but very subtle. |
Score: 9/12 |
Appearance - The beer pours a hazy light gold, with a thin off-white head that quickly becomes a thin film. |
Score: 2/3 |
Flavor - The juicy hops smack you in the face with peach, mango and grapefruit and then the wave of saison yeast character, filled with its earthy flavors come in right after. The malt comes off a little more as wheat vread than the bread dough I got in the nose and the balance is incredible. The finish is semi-dry. |
Score: 18/20 |
Mouthfeel - Medium carbonation, medium body and at 7.2%, the alcohol isn't "hot." |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - Schlafly has NOT been messing around lately! Their IBEX series is setting some high expectations and this is an example of a beer that's living up to them. This one was just 20 days old when I drank it (I finished it while next to the grill) and I was quite happy with Schlafly's latest offering. |
