Best Quote During Tasting
How big would the tattoo have to be and can I pick the boy band?
Justin:
Aroma - This one sure is dank and fruity. The two hope notes compete hard against each other with no clear winner. The fruits are bright and tropical with tangerine and mango leading over grapefruit. Some subdued alcohol is present as well. |
Score: 9/12 |
Appearance - The head is bright white and made up of small, tight bubbles that remind you of a nitro beer. As for the color of the beer itself, it pours out a nearly clear medium-deep gold. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - The first thing you notice is the bitterness and the second thing you notice is the balance. While the hops come out first, the sweet white bread and wheat bread flavors from the malts really do hold their own. Enough about the nerdy part of the flavor, the actual flavor components are that same tangerine, grapefruit and again that big dankness. The finish is just beyond semi-dry but you'll be tasting hops long after your last sip. |
Score: 17/20 |
Mouthfeel - The carbonation is meidum+ and the body is medium for a crisp drinking experience. |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - Why does this have to be a seasonal? This could easily be a beer I keep in my fridge all year long. I love crazy hops as much as the next guy but when a hoppy beer shows this much balance, you realize how hard it is to actually do it. You may not have had this one in a while so you're probably snoozin' on it when you walk down the beer aisle. Stop it. Don't do that anymore. Buy it. It's good. |
Score: 9/10 |
