This is some Willy Wonka type shit right here.
Justin:
Aroma - What the hell? Chocolate, maple syrup and caramel mix with blueberries to smell like chocolate chip blueberry pancakes, blueberry muffins and any other sweet treat with blueberries in it. Very sweet smelling and beyond what I described already, there isn't much else. |
Score: 8/12 |
Appearance - The beer is a very deep brown with a mocha colored head that starts at a quarter inch tall and soon becomes a thin film that clings to the glass. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - Good golly this is a sweet one. The blueberry flavor is huge and what hits your tongue first. Its flavor is artificially sweet and intense. After that goes away, the caramel/maple syrup shows up and again, brings some solid sweetness. There is some chocolate that lingers but the maple, caramel and blueberry dominate the beer. The sweetness is huge, intense and cloying. |
Score: 14/20 |
Mouthfeel - The carbonation is medium+ and the body is medium. It definitely has some big sugar in it and it coats your tongue. |
Score: 3/5 |
Overall Impression - They describe this one as blueberry pancakes and they aren't wrong. The issue is that it's so, so, so sweet. I could not drink an entire one myself and a 6 pack would last me forever. The flavor is actually good for what it is and if it were less sweet, I'd be into it. Is it worth trying? I'd say yes but maybe in a flight or if you're splitting one with a buddy. |
