A plum is a raisin's juicy cousin.
Justin:
Aroma - Citrus hits you first (mostly lemon). It mixes well with a brief whiff of sulfur, coupled with white pepper, floral hops and you can find some cracker aromas from the malt if you look for it. |
Score: 10/12 |
Appearance - Pours a cloudy, pale gold with a gigantic white head comprised of large bubbles. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - Peppery Belgian yeast with notes of clove and spice dominate. The citrus in the nose is subtle in the flavor and there's an earthy, herbal and floral quality to the hops that are perceptible. |
Score: 17/20 |
Mouthfeel - Dry finish, medium+ carbonation, medium body |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - Between Dry Hopped Katy and now Meriwether, I think I might be gaining a new favorite style "Dry Hopped Saison." The yeast profile was awesome and the hops were wonderfully present but not overbearing. I could drink this one all day, every day. |
Score: 8/10 |
Blake:
Aroma - Lemon zest, a bit of tartness , and some nice fruit, possibly pear and grape all from the yeast. You really get mostly yeast character in this beer, as well as a bit of grassy/floral hops. |
Score: 10/12 |
Appearance - Golden in color with a tall, fluffy white head, leaves distinct lacing. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - Earthy, tartness, and yeasty notes. Earthy hop flavors, likely from the dry-hopping, hit quickly. The beer moves into the sweeter territory of lemon and fruit esters. Light malt presence is relatively subdued, giving a water cracker type taste beneath all the other flavors present underneath. |
Score: 16/20 |
Mouthfeel - Medium-light body, with medium carbonation, dry finish. |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - I liked this beer a lot more than I would have two years ago. The dry hopping produces enough hop presence that it would have ruined the sweeter flavors for me, but now it seems like the bitterness I experience from the hops complement the rest of the flavors quite well. |
Score: 8/10 |
