Melomel? Wasn't that a 90's rapper?
Justin:
Aroma - It's grainy (white bread) with some subtle white pepper as well. The honey is present as a general sweetness but it's not very upfront. |
Score: 9/12 |
Appearance - The beer is a hazy, pale straw with a thin white head that stays afloat as you drink the beer. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - There is some dry graininess with white bread and bread crust leading the charge. There's some fruitiness that I can't quite place the origin of (yeast? honey?) and some well-balanced sweetness coming from the honey. |
Score: 17/20 |
Mouthfeel - The carbonation is medium+ and the body is medium. |
Score: 3/5 |
Overall Impression - This was a fun beer. It's a simple concept to brew: A Belgian ale with honey. However executing that with the myriad of flavors involved isn't that easy. Perennial consistently puts out interesting beers that are well above average and this is just another example. |
Score: 8/10 |
