Justin:
Aroma - Earthy peaches (like peach skins) is the most dominant aroma. There's also some sweet mango and beneath it all, you'll find the spices associated with a pumpkin beer. They're not as present as the regular old O'Fallon Pumpkin beer but they're definitely still there. |
Score: 9/12 |
Appearance - The beer pours a completely clear gold with a fluffy, white head made up of loose bubbles. The bubbles pop and recede in a matter of minutes leaving you with a slick film on top of the beer. |
Score: 2/3 |
Flavor - The peach again is the biggest part of the flavor and it's sweet like an extract. Right behind it though and giving it a run for its money is the pumpkin spices. They're not bright like a pumpkin pie but more subdued while still packing a punch. There's a bit of a bubble gum flavor to it in the finish. |
Score: 14/20 |
Mouthfeel - The body is light and the carbonation is a medium for a thin and sparkling mouthfeel. |
Score: 3/5 |
Overall Impression - O'Fallon's regular pumpkin beer is probably their most popular and anticipated beer of all of their seasonals. The other big, popular beer they have is their Wheach. It definitely makes sense that they did a hybrid version of the two. This beer is exactly as it describes: a pumpkin beer that has peach flavors added. I wish the roles would've swapped a little and the pumpkin spices would've been bigger than the peach. I think that would've made this one easier to drink and a little less sweet. |
