Best Quote During Tasting
It's his birthday, give him a purple nurple.
Aroma - Yep. They used cherries. Big cherry aroma mixes with an awesome tartness from the yeast. There is chocolate but it's small and hard to find. No real malt presence but there is some sweetness.
Appearance - There is a definite red hue to the beer that is past amber. The head starts small and sparkling but leaves quickly.
Flavor - It's powerfully sweet and tart at the same time. It's got a slight metallic flavor but once you get past that, it's got big, big cherry and little, little chocolate. It's like if there were a tart tootsie pop and it's the lick you take right when you break into the tootsie roll part. Finishes dry and crisp.
Mouthfeel - It's got a bright carbonation that's very high with a medium body so it's a little thin but it's inviting.
Overall Impression - I wasn't sure this combo would work but boy it sure does. Tell you what, that tootsie pop reference I made up above is about as exact as I could explain what this tastes like. It's not something I could drink a lot of but with a dessert, whoa buddy this would be awesome.
