I was playing with it in my mouth and I was like "holy lord!"
Justin:
Aroma - Definitely a bit of yeasty funk from the brett in this one. The cherry is subtle and the tartness is abundant. Small bits of sulfur. |
Score: 10/12 |
Appearance - The beer pours a deep, cloudy gold with a fluffy white head made up of big bubbles that reside to a thin film. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - The cherry is much more present here than in the aroma, the tartness smacks you in the face. The brett is nicely funky. The finish is very dry. |
Score: 18/20 |
Mouthfeel - Very high carbonation with a light body. |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - Blake snagged this one down in New Orleans for under $15. For that price, I would always have two in my fridge. One for drinking and one in case of an emergency until I replaced the one I drank. It was a very good mix of sweet and tart and the cherries were surprisingly present. |
Score: 9/10 |
Blake:
Aroma - A bit of sweet and sour cherries. A lot of funk from the brett in this one. Nose is tart without being overwhelming. |
Score: 11/12 |
Appearance - Deep gold with a slight haze to it, and white head that dissipates rather quickly, but leaves lacing on the way down. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - Very pleasant tart cherry mixed with slight oak and grape. Very well balanced, the sour and tartness never overwhelm the sweetness from the fruit. |
Score: 18/20 |
Mouthfeel - Light bodied, but with fine carbonation that gives the beer a smooth texture. |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - I didn't get to try this one at the brewery, if I had, I probably would've bought multiple bottles of it. Really wish I had some to enjoy on my patio on a nice hot summer day. It's a very refreshing sour that goes down almost a little too easily. If you see this one, make sure and grab one. |
Score: 10/10 |
