How do you not know if you like strawberry milk or not?
Justin:
Aroma - The hops are gargantuan. Big blueberry (possibly the most blueberry I've gotten just from hops), melon, grapefruit, bubblegum and some slight grassiness completely fill your nose. The malts are there too, not easily perceptible other than their sweetness. |
Score: 11/12 |
Appearance - The beer pours a cloudy pale gold with a tightly bubbled, frothy white head. Typically a cloudy beer wouldn't be ideal but based on the style, its cloudiness is appropriate. |

Flavor - The front of your tongue gets some bitterness, as the beer moves further back, the hop flavor really kicks in. The blueberry is there but not as big as in the aroma and there's a ton of peach and mango. There's the sweet juiciness from the hops and then there's the sweetness of the malts. They're easily separated but blend together nicely. The bitterness is drying and there is some hefty grassiness on the back of your tongue. |
Score: 18/20 |
Mouthfeel - The body is full and the carbonation is medium+. It covers your tongue but it doesn't coat it. |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - Boom goes the dynamite. This beer is goooood. As we've mentioned before, nobody in this city is brewing this style of IPA (it's found in New England and originated there). That alone makes it unique. To go beyond that, while many breweries in the country are now attempting this style, nobody in the Midwest is doing them this well. It's not just that it's unique, it's that it tastes damn good too. Get yourself a growler or stop in for a pint to judge for yourself. |
