I know your body.
Justin:
Aroma - Sweet ginger and bread dough come jumping out of the beer. The effervescence make it reminiscent of a ginger ale (which, I guess it literally is). |
Score: 9/12 |
Appearance - The beer is a crystal clear gold with a thin white head that leaves quickly. |
Score: 2/3 |
Flavor - This one is sweet. It's not overly sweet but it's definitely sweet. There is a nice amount of spice from the ginger but very subtle. The same aromas of ginger and bread dough from the aroma come through nicely in the flavor as well. Finish is semi-dry. |
Score: 16/20 |
Mouthfeel - There's some high carbonation which produces a crisp, carbonic bite. The body on this one is light-medium and it very much reminds me of a slightly lesser carbed soda. |
Score: 3/5 |
Overall Impression - For me, the ginger was the perfect amount. I'm not a huge fan of ginger in general (don't try to make me eat that nasty salad dressing while you push that onion train, skilled hibachi grill artist). However, this one was very refreshing. This is a great hot day/ lawn mower beer and that's what I'll be using it for this summer. |

Blake:
Aroma - Ginger and pale wheat malts dominate the aroma. Ginger isn't as strong as a straight forward ginger beer, but it's still pervasive. The bread notes from the malt really help mellow the ginger which can be overwhelming in other instances. |
Score: 9/12 |
Appearance - Light gold with a thin white head that you'll miss if you blink. |
Score: 2/3 |
Flavor - Flavor doesn't bring much more than the aroma. The pale malts and ginger are still the preeminent flavors. There is a bit of lemon zest to it that makes it quite refreshing. |
Score: 15/20 |
Mouthfeel - Light body with high carbonation. |
Score: 3/5 |
Overall Impression - This beer would work great as a mixer. It's got just enough ginger to impart that flavor, while it still contains plenty of wheat notes to make it different. I'll likely use one to make a Moscow Mule at some point. I'd imagine this is a great beer for the summer. |
Score: 7/10 |
