There's no practical application for me to have a knife like that.
Justin:
Aroma - Roasted malts and subtle coffee notes come through strong with subtle chocolate bringing up the rear. Small amounts of earthy hops are present as well. |
Score: 11/12 |
Appearance - This is a crystal clear bronze color with an off-white head that starts fluffy and ends up topping the beer leaving nice lacing. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - I will try to mention all I'm getting here: wheat bread, bread crust, roasted malts, toasted malts, subtle caramel, subtle coffee. There's so much going on but it all works so well together. |
Score: 17/20 |
Mouthfeel - Light-medium body with medium carbonation. Not quite creamy but almost there. |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - Don't be fooled by the color, this beer is refreshing and crazy drinkable. When I interviewed Logboat's Head Brewer Josh Rein a couple months ago, he mentioned this was his everyday drinker and a recipe he refined as a home brewer. I totally understand why he held on to this recipe for so long and couldn't agree more with the everyday drinkability. As I type this, I've now convinced myself to grab a six pack on the way home. |

Blake:
Aroma - Roast aromas with a bit of coffee are the most forward, but there is a bit of caramel and chocolate sweetness as well. |
Score: 10/12 |
Appearance - Deep reddish brown with a tall off-white head that leaves some great lacing on the glass. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - Coffee and chocolate are very predominate, with bread crust coming from the pale malts. There is also some sugary sweetness similar to caramel or molasses. |
Score: 17/20 |
Mouthfeel - On the light side of medium body, but great carbonation makes this one a bit smoother than you'd expect at this ABV. |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - I'm not sure I'd crush this one on a hot summer day, but I could easily throw back a few on a nice spring or fall day. It's a very easy drinker, and has a lot more flavor than you'd expect. This one is a winner. |
Score: 9/10 |
