I don't care how 4:20 started. I'm an adult.
Justin:
Aroma - There is so much fruit, particularly berry, coming off of this beer. I'd swear if I didn't know better that they used a fruit extract in this. So aromatic and all juicy, fruit hops. Berry, peach, grapefruit, papaya, melon and any other tropical fruit you can name. |
Score: 10/12 |
Appearance - It's clear. Not "kinda clear" but more like "this is a light yellow water" clear. There's a loosely bubbled white head that hangs around for a minute or two before completely going away. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - Don't get me wrong, this one is a hop bomb. However, it's incredibly well balanced and the hops are more flavorful than bitter. The berry and papaya qualities in this one are insane. It's very fruity and the bitterness that is hanging around is very welcome and balances the beer wonderfully. |
Score: 17/20 |
Mouthfeel - The carbonation is medium+ and the body is medium. It's more complex than that one sentence allows for but it's as accurate as I can be. |
Score: 3/5 |
Overall Impression - This would be a great beer to use to mess with people. It's crazy fruity for having no fruit and I think that could let people appreciate exactly what hops can contribute to a beer besides just melting tongues. The aroma was out of control and the flavor was just behind it. This is another case of a "bigger" brand being readily available and overlooked. Don't sleep on this one. Grab a sixer and you'll be glad you did. |
