That's the first time I saw an Alpaca, too. I was freaking out.
Justin:
Aroma - There are a lot of great things happening from the hops: Cantaloupe, grapefruit, melon, and some resin. The malt is there but subtle sweetness of wheat bread is most perceptible. |
Score: 10/12 |
Appearance - The beer pours hazy gold with a thick, white head that stays around as a thin film. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - Loads of hop character: Melon, tropical fruits, pine, dankness, and bitter. Malts are second fiddle but there in good balance with a caramelly sweetness. |
Score: 16/20 |
Mouthfeel - Medium carbonation, medium body, and finishes semi-dry |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - I took notes on this one (as I do for every beer) but something I circled was "I would drink a lot of these." Poetic, right? Really though, I could handle a few of these, no problem. The balance is great and the awesome citrus/melon character from the hops can keep you wanting more. |
Score: 9/10 |
