If you close your eyes, you can hear the bear outside your tent.
Justin:
Aroma - It's got a pie crust, marshmallow and chocolate flavor right off the bat. Small vanilla, small nuttiness, a little graham cracker, surprisingly a little bit of coffee and a general sugary sweetness. |
Score: 11/12 |
Appearance - This is a deep brown, nearly black with a thin, tightly bubbled brown head that stays on top of the beer the entire time you're drinking. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - It's got a big, marshmallow flavor with vanilla and caramel mixing nicely. There's chocolate to help round it out and no hops to be found. It sure enough reminds me of a s'more. |
Score: 17/20 |
Mouthfeel - The body is above medium and the carbonation is medium for a nice, creamy texture that continues to evoke the s'more feel. |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - If you're sitting around a campfire on a crisp night, this is an obvious choice. It would also go well with desserts if you wanted to drink it indoors. I can't see myself drinking on a patio during summer but it is very good so I wouldn't put it past me. |

Blake:
Aroma - It really does smell like a s'more. It's got prominent graham cracker and marshmallow/vanilla and a dash of chocolate. There's also a bit of roast that works well with the campfire element of this beer. |
Score: 11/12 |
Appearance - Deep brown with a tall mocha colored head that has great retention. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - It's just as sweet in flavor as it is in the aroma. The graham cracker comes through better than you'd ever expect, and that marshmallow sweetness really shines through. The chocolate could possibly be a bit more prominent when compared to the other flavors, but it's still noticeable enough where it is a problem. |
Score: 17/20 |
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with medium carbonation with a velvety smooth finish. |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - This beer surprises everyone I give it to because it really does evoke the flavors of a s'more. It's a relatively inexpensive bomber, and if your in the mood for a dessert beer you can't really find one for a better value than Campfire Stout. |

Sounds like this one could be served the way Base Camp Brewing in Portland serves their stout…with a toasted marshmallow on the rim of the glass.
