That is all Darla butt right there.
Justin:
Aroma - Hints of chocolate are there but it's mostly a lot of caramel, molasses, and dark fruits (plum and raisin) backed by a boozy sweetness. |
Score: 11/12 |
Appearance - Pours deep brown, nearly black with ruby highlights as the glass is tilted in the light. The foam is dense and brown and remains a constant layer atop the beer. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - Toffee, chocolate, burnt sugar and roasted malts are what pop when you take the first sip. Mostly rich sweetness without the hops to balance it out. I can pick out those same dark fruits (mostly raisin) and there is a robust alcohol flavor. |
Score: 15/20 |
Mouthfeel - Full bodied, verging on chewy, with low carbonation. There is some alcohol warmth that splits the line between good and bad. The finish is sweet and rich. |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - While this is an absolutely delicious beer, I'm not sure it would be toward the top of my list. It's a huge beer but the alcohol flavor and warmth are a bit much for a beer at 9%. It's balanced mostly on the malt side which makes it quite sweet and therefore a fantastic beer to pair with a rich dessert but a difficult beer to drink on it's own. |

Blake:
Aroma - Dark fruits, especially plum, mixed with chocolate, molasses, and toffee. Wouldn't mind seeing a bit more roast from this one. |
Score: 9/12 |
Appearance - Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Some spotty lacing, not as much as you would expect from the way it poured. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - Sweet roasted malts, dark fruits, and lots of molasses. Some caramel and toffee flavor mixed with sweet alcohol burn. Could use some hops to add some bitterness and balance the entire beer out. |
Score: 15/20 |
Mouthfeel - Creamy with a medium-full body. Not a ton of carbonation, and a slightly sweet finish. Reminds me a bit of cold hot chocolate. |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - I love the rich flavors, but I want just a bit more in terms of complexity. The sweetness drags on, and makes a whole bottle a bit of a chore to finish. Don't worry, I still accomplished it. I'd really like to try the barrel-aged version of this one to see how it improves on the base beer. |
Score: 7/10 |

I had Dystopia a while ago and I have to say I agree with the review. It was a good beer, but it wasn’t one I’d seek out again. Cheers!
