I'm not as sensitive as you.
Justin:
Aroma - There's floral notes and some slight spiciness. The orange peel mentioned in the recipe isn't readily present in the aroma. The malts are bread crust and toast and there's an earthiness that rounds it out. |
Score: 10/12 |
Appearance - The beer pours an amber brown with a thin, off-white head that stays small. The beer itself looks watery. |
Score: 2/3 |
Flavor - It's definitely got an earthy quality to it. It's also slightly alcoholic. It's got nice caramel and bread crust character to it as well. The flower and orange are very subtle but knowing they're there helps you find them. |
Score: 16/20 |
Mouthfeel - Medium+ body and medium carbonation. |
Score: 3/5 |
Overall Impression - The style isn't my favorite but this beer is a good example of it. It's definitely interesting and the addition of elderflower and orange peels did have an impact on flavor, just not a huge one. I would love to play with some food pairings for this one. |
Score: 7/10 |
