Best Quote During Tasting
Some brewery in like, Indiana or something, has labels that look like god damn Hanna-Barbera.
Justin:
Aroma - Toffee sweetness, roasty, some dark fruits. |
Score: 11/12 |
Appearance - Black. Like...black, black. Nice beige head |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - Comes off as sweet upfront. Not in a cloying way but just with flavors of toffe and chocolate. The roasty notes help take away from the sweetness to balance it out. It also comes across a little hot but not fusel. |
Score: 17/20 |
Mouthfeel - Thick and creamy. Low-medium carbonation. About exactly what this style of beer should be. |
Score: 5/5 |
Overall Impression - Without a doubt, I would drive to IL for this beer alone. It's a shame they don't distribute in MO but at the same time, it's better for my wallet and my liver. Its got a great balance and its perfect for sipping as a final wind-down before bedtime or to eat with a slice of rich chocolate cake. |
