Quit saying "Pumpkin Smash" like the Hulk for the love of god.
Justin:
Aroma - So. Many. Aromas. Toffee, chocolate, graham cracker, allspice, nutmeg, caramel, coffee, brown sugar, burnt sugar, roasted malts, subtle coffee, and molasses. No, I'm not kidding. That's all in there. |
Score: 11/12 |
Appearance - The beer is deep brown and the beige head sits a quarter inch tall above the beer, sticking to the glass. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - Damn. Again, there's just a lot going on. Before I list off a billion things, I'll point out the alcohol that you can taste (it is over 10% after all). Now on to the laundry list of flavors: Toffee, caramel, bread crust, spiced hops, brown sugar, coffee, nutmeg, allspice, wheat bread and even a hint of smokiness. It's quite sweet but the balance isn't far off from right down the middle. |
Score: 17/20 |
Mouthfeel - This one is full bodied with medium carbonation. It's perfect for the style, velvety, coats the tongue and makes it incredibly fun to drink. |
Score: 5/5 |
Overall Impression - This one was a complete shock to me. This was my first time enjoying this beer and damn did I enjoy it. It's a very nice mix of sweet and spice. The sweetness is big and for that reason, I bet I could drink a bomber but no more. Then again, at over 10%, I'm not sure how much more you'd need. Whether you like pumpkin beers or not, put this on your list of beers to try because if you're not a fan of them, this might be the one that changes your mind. |
