I bet George Brett only drinks Coors.
Justin:
Aroma - Brettanomyces is dominating the aroma. Absolutely dominating. Huge wet hay and barnyard aromas jump out like crazy. There's some spicy, earthy, white pepper Belgian yeast character that sneaks in behind it and even some floral notes too but there's a whole lotta brett. |
Score: 9/12 |
Appearance - Huge white, fluffy head pillows up and never leaves. It's a least 3 fingers high and is made up of sparkling bubbles. The beer itself is a cloudy pale gold but the foam is what catches your eye. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - Mother of god this beer has funk all over it. The brett is again huge leaving little room for much else. Huge sweaty leather and wet hay with a little bit of cherry fruit. The hops actually chime in here with some earthy tones but the Belgian flavors from the nose aren't as present. |
Score: 15/20 |
Mouthfeel - As assumed from the size of the head, the carbonation is very big and body is medium. This one tingles your tongue and has a nice bite to it. |
Score: 3/5 |
Overall Impression - I love brett beers but this one was INSANE! The brett was used to bottle condition and it definitely was the big player here. The beer was not bad by any stretch of the imagination, in fact it was damn delicious. I just wish I would've gotten more than just the wild yeast. That being said I would definitely, definitely get this one again and hang on to it a little longer to see what happens. |
Score: 7/10 |
