Your new house has a pirate ship playground in the backyard? So many booty puns. I need to get a pen.
Aroma - It's very raisiny with a little bit of bourbon and chocolate blended with it. The dark fruits run rampant on this one: plums and raisins leading the way. The vanilla is at the end with some slight tartness.
Appearance - The beer is a very cloudy deep brown with a big ol' head made up of large and small bubbles that sits high above the beer and leaves sticky lacing.
Flavor - The first sip is like some sour chocolate. It's also got some barrel character that's very big on oak. The vanilla is not as here as it was in the nose but this one has a whole host of flavors: raisins, oak, plums, chocolate.
Mouthfeel - The carbonation is below medium while the body is above it. They balance each other out well.
Overall Impression - This one was....different. There were so many flavors happening that it was a bit of an overload. I will say that somehow it all worked well together. I'm glad that we split it because I feel like my palate would get tired after half the bottle.
