Say "Purple Hulk Shorts" and she gets pissed.
Justin:
Aroma - It smells very "juicy" and is a perfect mix of all the typical hop aromas (citrus, dankness and spicy). Sweet, caramelly malt is there but VERY subtle because the hops steal the show. |
Score: 11/12 |
Appearance - It pours a hazy, light gold with a thin, off-white head that has good lacing. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - Very dank, resinous, and every other synonym for marijuana-like you can think of. The citrus is there, the spice is there but NOTHING can compete with the dankness. Malts, while a subtle caramel, are essentially a no-show but it doesn't matter. They provide sweetness for balance and that's all this one needs. |
Score: 17/20 |
Mouthfeel - Medium body and medium carbonation give this a slightly creaminess that works amazingly with the beer. |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - This one doesn't get across the river to Missouri so you may not have heard of it. Seek it out. It's very complex and very well balanced and it really is a great beer to drink. It's not from a big name brewery and it won't be worth its weight in gold if you try to trade it but it will make a good extra in a beer trade and it's a great one to have stocked in the fridge this summer. |
