I can't remember if Phoebe ever hooked up with any of the other Friends.
In my mind, she did with Rachel like a thousand times.
Aroma - Gigantic amounts of bread crust jump out of the glass. As you dive a little deeper, it's roasty, has a few coffee notes, and has some subdued spices (cinnamon more than anything else).
Appearance - This deep copper beer has a thick, tan head made up of large, loose bubbles. The head starts huge and while it recedes, it never disappears, leaving stickly lacing on the sides of the glass as you take each drink.
Flavor - There is a LOT more spice in the flavor compared to the aroma. Big vanilla is actually the biggest new flavor to the party, followed by ginger and cinnamon. The roasted character takes a backseat but it's still there and the bread crust is still huge. The finish is semi-dry.
Mouthfeel - The body is medium and the carbonation matches it nicely. It's not heavy on your tongue but it slightly coats it.
Overall Impression - I've said before that I'm not a fan of winter or christmas ales. This is a beer I'll make an exception for. The spices are well-balanced and the flavor isn't like you're drinking a chef's pantry. The malts and vanilla do a good job of cancelling out some of those big spices so it's easy to drink and dare I say, easy to have more than one of in a sitting. If you're a fan of these beers, you'll love this and if you're not a fan, you may just end up liking it.
