Best Quote During Tasting
I'm going to check into this dude.
Aroma - Spicy hops, bread crust and caramel malts blend well when you take your first whiff. After that, you'll reach to find much else but it also has a brown sugar/molasses quality.
Appearance - This one pours a clear, medium amber with a tightly bubbled tan head that sits firmly on top of the beer.
Flavor - The sweetness of this one is what I picked up first. The spicy hops do their best to balance it out to no avail. The bread crust from the nose is here and does some great things to add to the flavor.
Mouthfeel - The carbonation is medium+ and the body is medium. Overall, it coats your tongue but it also has a semi-dry finish to clean your palate.
Overall Impression - Another solid beer from Backpocket. They don't make whalez and they're not gonna trade for any but if I got one of these as a local extra in a trade, I'd be happy about it. We have a lot of great "shelfies" in STL and it looks like Iowa has a good selection, too.
