I wanted something to smack me in the face.
Justin:
Aroma - Huge raspberry jumps out with a very small amount of sulfur. The malts are slightly bready but hard to pick up past the fruit. Floral hops can be found at the end of it. |
Score: 9/12 |
Appearance - This one is a hazy gold with a very, very, very big white head that quickly fades. |
Score: 2/3 |
Flavor - The raspberry punches your throat. Hard. It's huge and while it's not overwhelming for me, it could be for most. The beer is a little hot for 8%. The sweetness is from the white bread and wheat bread malts used. It's quite interesting. |
Score: 14/20 |
Mouthfeel - The carbonation is medium plus and the body is medium. It's sparkling and refreshing. |
Score: 3/5 |
Overall Impression - I've had Purple Haze but it's been a while so I'm not going to try and compare the two. I will say that it was a whole lot of raspberry and I really didn't expect that much. It's not my cup of tea but I could see folks being big fans. |
Score: 6/10 |
