Justin:
Aroma - Huge, smack-you-in-the-face citrus leaps from the glass once the beer is poured. Sweet orange, peach, pineapple and even subtle berry are all present. The malts aren't shy either with caramel leading the way and bread crust right behind it. |
Score: 10/12 |
Appearance - This one pours a deep gold that is slightly hazy. The head on this beer is thick, dense, made up of small and large bubbles and sticks to the glass like glue. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - The citrus is quite juicy with peach coming out the most and pineapple right behind it. The malts are bread crust and caramel but there's a nice rich quality to them. Those rich malts do a great job of taming any bitterness that comes from the hops making this one extremely well balanced. |
Score: 17/20 |
Mouthfeel - The body is full and the carbonation is medium+. This one is soft and coats your tongue. |
Score: 4/5 |
Overall Impression - Man, I did not expect this one to be what it was. The balance was awesome, the aroma was packed with juice, the flavor was juicy as hell and the mouthfeel was insane. 4 Hands does a lot of hoppy beers but this one may creep up on my favorite list from them. It's new in cans so make sure you look for it next time you're in the mood for a damn good IPA. |
Score: 8/10 |
