If that body were a little bit bigger......good lawd.
Justin:
Aroma - Citrus and resin smack your nostrils. Very orange heavy, subtle grapefruit, big resin and barely any pine. Malts are hiding but they're caramel and bread crust. |
Score: 10/12 |
Appearance - Crook pours a bright gold with a solid head that sits on top of the beer, never fully going away. The lacing is crazy sticky. |
Score: 3/3 |
Flavor - Its bitterness is the first thing you notice. There's not a flavor associated with it, it's just bitter. The hop flavors that come after are resinous, grassy and again, big citrus (orange again wins the battle). There's a big alcohol bite for 6% and it finishes semi-dry. |
Score: 16/20 |
Mouthfeel - The body is quite thin and the carbonation is a little above medium. |
Score: 3/5 |
Overall Impression - This one was very fruity and refreshing. The alcohol bite and the lack of a good body were the only things that I could find wrong with this beer. This isn't a big brewery so you'll probably have to travel to Tinley Park to score some. |
Score: 8/10 |
