The time has arrived for Six Mile Bridge to release The Reverent, the first beer in their “Big Five Series.”
This Saturday, May 27th at 2pm, anyone who has reserved their bottle will be able to head down to the brewery and pick up their allotment. If you aren’t the type to plan ahead, don’t worry, they will have some bottles available for those who didn’t reserve any in advance.
As usual, we’ll be sure to post pictures and tasting notes before Saturday so you know what you can expect from this one, so keep an eye out for that post.
See below for more details about both The Reverent and the entire “Big Five Series.”
Hearkening back to his home country of South Africa, Head Brewer/Co-Owner, Ryan Sherring and the rest of the Six Mile Bridge team are excited to announce the release of a new line of limited edition barrel-aged beers entitled, The Big Five Series.
Each beer style will feature one of the famed South African Big Five game animals: Cape buffalo, black rhino, elephant, leopard and lion. Brewer, Ryan Sherring drew his inspiration from the bold characteristics and tenacity of each game animal and plans to produce styles that are full-bodied and complex as well as subtle and unique.
The first in this series, called The Reverent, features the critically endangered black rhino. It is a 13% ABV imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels on Indian vanilla beans and will be released on May 27, 2017 in wax-dipped 750mL bottles costing $20 each.
