Ahhh, summer in the Midwest. Float trips, music festivals, trips to the pool. Unfortunately for craft beer fans, sometimes they can’t bring their favorites along because they’re in bottles.
Now another local brewery is making sure you can’t use that excuse next time you’re drifting down the Meramac River.
Six Mile Bridge is excited to announce that, beginning in June, they will be offering several of their most popular beer styles in 16-ounce cans. The official Kickoff Summer: CAN Release Party is set for June 2nd at the Maryland Heights brewery and tap room. Expect food trucks, a DJ, giveaways, summer activities and so much more! See the full details in their Facebook event here.
“Our customers have been asking for our beers in cans for a long time now and we are so excited to be able to meet that need so they can take our beer with them wherever they go,” says Lindsay Sherring, Co-Owner and Marketing Director at Six Mile Bridge. “With the recent addition of 165-barrels of fermentation space late last year, we’re finally able to increase capacity to make this happen. Not only is canned beer easier to recycle, it’s also easier to transport and allowed in so many places that glass isn’t including parks and public pools—just in time for summer!”
Six Mile will also be introducing thirsty customers to a more diverse selection of their beers. The first run of cans will include some of the brewery’s flagship beers such as the Irish Red Ale with Honey, Bavarian Hefeweizen and DDH Citra IPA. Some fan-favorites, including the Blood Orange Wit, will be released as summer rolls along.
Cans will be available for purchase to-go at the Maryland Heights taproom as well as limited retailers across the St Louis and St Charles markets.
