Hey, folks It’s Justin. I’m both sad and excited to announce that after nearly 3 years, I will no longer be the person behind Saint Brewis.
What started as a local beer review website has become so much more. We now have thousands of followers on Facebook and Twitter. We get thousands of unique visitors every month to our site with 80% of them coming from within a 30 mile radius of St. Louis. The stuff we post about is of value to our local beer scene so I’m glad to see it continue and evolve.
Why Now?
I’ve always thought that eventually the site will need a new voice. Blake and I have set the tone for the site’s content since its inception. We’ve had amazing content from Tim Lewis, Gary Hibbits, Scott Kurtz, Sarah Rybicki, and others along the way but for the most part, it’s been the same folks presenting the same kind of stuff. Couple that with the fact that I’ve got a full time job, a side gig, and am expecting my third child this September, and I no longer have the time to devote to the site like I used to.
It’s Manny’s Turn
Luckily, the site has allowed me to spend a lot of my free time surrounding myself with awesome people in the local beer scene. One of those people is Manny Negron, who many of you may know as “that dude from CBC.” Manny worked in craft beer in Colorado before finding his way to STL back in January of 2017. Once he arrived, he immediately got a job working in craft beer at Craft Beer Cellar out in Clayton. He’s contributed to other beer websites in the past and has already laid out a path for the direction he’d like to take Saint Brewis. Some of it will be the same and some of it will be different.
Manny has a different persepective on our craft beer scene since he’s not a STL native and he works with beer, chatting with brewers and beer geeks every day. He also loves him some Instagram and will be quite active on that platform so you’ll probably wanna throw a follow that way now.
So What’s Gonna Change?
We’re lucky enough to give away tickets to local beer festivals, participate in STL Craft Beer week and shine the light on amazing local businesses through our partnerships. These things will not change. While that’s important, we’re most excited to see all of the things that will change with a new owner: new contributors, new insights, new articles and a new perspective.
Blake and I may be handing things over but we’re not going away just yet. We’re always going to be the Founders of Saint Brewis. We’re still going to contribute articles here and you’ll still see us at festivals and breweries.
Last but not least, I wanted to thank Barrel Brands, Shamrocks, Twinkle Brews, Snakebite Co., Craft Beer Cellar Clayton, and Brewers True Value for your support and partnership over the years. Thank you for trusting us with your brands and allowing us to spread the word of the great things you all do. If you haven’t been a patron of one of these business, give them a look because they’re all run by amazing people.
Ummm. I guess that’s it.
Cheers!
