Double the hops, double the strength. It’s the American way with IPAs and St. Louis breweries are no exception. Now Schlafly is stepping up to the plate this summer with the newest entry into their Hop Allocation Series, the Double IPA. Formerly a draft only offering, the Double IPA is a 10% ABV and 80 IBU version of their standard American IPAs, loaded with Chinook, Mosaic and Simcoe hops for a very noticeable blend of fruit, citrus and pine from the first sniff to the last sip.
The Hop Allocation series showcases the depth of flavors and distinct characteristics of different hops. Some of the beers in the line-up are an introduction to hoppy beers, but this one is for the true hop lover. – Ambassador Brewer Stephen Hale
The Schlafly Double IPA will be made available for purchase in six packs this week at grocery stores and bottle shops in Schlafly’s distribution range for around $10.99. And stop by the Bottleworks or Tap Room and get it fresh on draft with a meal, then take home a growler to share with your fellow beer geeks. Or not, we won’t judge.
