"Fast Day Trip"
One cool thing about living in St. Louis is its proximity to other cool cities. If you get sick of your own city you can flee to another for a day with ease. Bloomington and Normal Illinois are just 2 & 1/2 hours away. There is not only plenty of beer there for a day trip but there is beer along the way.
Here are a few spots you should consider!

Brewery: Destihl Brewing |
Beer I Loved: Touch of Haze |
Address: 1200 Greenbriar Dr, Normal, IL 61761 |
Similar to in STL: 4 Hands |
Description: A giant, absolutely impressive, facility featuring vaulted ceilings, a barrel cellar and an enormous bar. The brewery features flagships as well as tons of brewery only beers that cater to every beer drinker. Outdoor seating near a pond gives the brewery the feel of a small resort. |

Brewery: Lil' Beaver |
Beer I Loved: Strawberry Wainbows |
Address: 16 Currency Dr, Bloomington, IL 61704 |
Similar to in STL: Modern |
Description: An industrial/warehouse style brewing company with plenty of seating and a diverse selection of beers. Heavy metal blasting and an energetic crowd made this brewery all the more fun! |

Brewery: White Oak Brewery |
Beer I Loved: Res Ipsa Loquitur |
Address: 1801 Industrial Park Dr, Normal, IL 61761 |
Similar to in STL: Good News |
Description: This industrial brewery sits at the end of a cul-de-sac full of large warehouses. The taproom is tiny, adorable even. A "working class" beer list coupled with experimental beers keep both the beer nerds and the after work beer drinkers very happy. |

Brewery: Keg Grove Brewing Company |
Beer I Loved: King Corn |
Address: 712 E Empire St, Bloomington, IL 61701 |
Similar to in STL: 4 Hands & Good News |
Description: The outside of the building is a non descript entrance to a polished, mulit-level brewery with "corn" as a focus. Interesting beers and a fast, friendly, knowledgeable staff make this place a not to be missed! |
So there you have it! Bloomington/Normal are chill towns with easy going vibes and being only 2 & 1/2 hours away from STL I find myself very tempted to visit again! Makes for a stellar day trip, right?
