Craft beer fans, rejoice! Another great place to drink craft is opening soon! BarFly Ventures LLC today announced plans to open HopCat – St. Louis along the Delmar Loop later this year.
HopCat – St. Louis, 6317 Delmar Boulevard, will feature 80 craft beers, ciders and meads on tap, a full menu of homemade pub food (including its famous Crack Fries), outdoor beer garden in the rear, street-side patio seating, and an events space and second floor dining room.
A Local 30 selection of styles made in the region while an additional 70 rotating taps will feature seasonal selections, hard-to-find beers, HopCat exclusive collaborations and other craft selections from around the world.
Hiring of the St. Louis management team is already under way. Resumes are being accepted at jobs@hopcat.com. Hiring for hourly employees will begin in late summer. The project will create about 130 new jobs.
HopCat – St. Louis will seat about 245 guests inside with room for 100 people in the rear beer garden and additional seasonal outdoor seating along Delmar. This will be the second Missouri location for HopCat, an award-winning restaurant and bar, which has been named a top beer bar in the nation by CraftBeer.com and Draft Magazine, among others.
HopCat – Kansas City opened in the Westport neighborhood in February with more than 300 people waiting to get inside on opening day.
Extensive renovations by HopCat and the building’s owners are expected to result in an investment of more than $2.5 million. St. Louis will be the 15th location for HopCat, which was founded in 2008 with a commitment to providing a showcase for craft brewers in a unique atmosphere with homemade pub food.
St. Louis has played a major role in America’s brewing heritage, so creating a HopCat in one of America’s great beer cities seemed like a natural fit,” said Mark Sellers, founder of HopCat and its parent company, BarFly Ventures. “The Delmar Loop area is just the kind of location we look for when choosing a HopCat. With easy access to amenities like the Loop Trolley, proximity to live music venues, other great restaurants and bars, and the historic Theatre Tivoli, we think HopCat can further strengthen this unique neighborhood.
HopCat’s full food menu, available until closing every night, includes its signature Crack Fries, named among the 10 Best French Fries in the nation by Food Network Magazine. Other selections include gourmet burgers, Detroit-style pizza, homemade soups and salads, a variety of homemade shareables and entrees like customizable Killer Mac & Cheese.
HopCat – St. Louis will bring BarFly Ventures’ industry-leading waste reduction program to Delmar Loop. The program has a goal of composting or recycling 90 percent or more of the waste generated at BarFly Ventures restaurants.
In addition to draft beers and ciders, HopCat offers a selection of Belgian and specialty bottled beers, signature cocktails and a full bar. As part of its commitment to craft brewers, HopCat does not serve Miller, Bud or Coors products.
