St. Louis has a HUGE beer history dating back hundreds of years. However, only recently has STL enjoyed a resurgence in the beer world, starting with Schlafly in 1991 and really picking up steam this past decade. In the last few years, our city has been blessed with loads of new breweries crafting quality beers. On Friday, we being a celebration of the suds that flow through our city with STL Craft Beer Week, a tradition since 2009. This "week" lasts 9 days (if you're gonna do it, do it right) and has well over 100 events to attend. Seriously.
While we've done our best to update our events page with all of these events, we encourage you to go to the source for all of your STLCBW needs: www.stlbeerweek.com. Those guys have done a great job organizing these events and have a great website with the event details as well.
Without further ado, after reviewing the dozens upon dozens of events, I've chosen 5 that I think you shouldn't miss. Here they are in no particular order.

Event: Vol. 4, Rapture, and Revelation beer release |
Brewery: 4 Hands Brewing Company |
Location: 4 Hands Brewing Company |
Date: Sunday, July 31 |
Time: Noon |
Event Link: http://saintbrewis.com/event/4-hands-bottle-release/ |
Why You Should Go: At $18 per bottle, you're in for a treat: Volume 4 is a blend of 71% Russian Imperial Stout aged in Templeton Rye Whiskey Barrels and 29% Barley Wine aged in Willett Bourbon Barrels and is 11% ABV. (4 Bottle Limit per person) |

Event: Beer Geek Fest |
Brewery: How about TWENTY FOUR of them!!! |
Location: Craft Beer Cellar Clayton |
Date: Sunday, July 31 |
Time: Noon - 6pm |
Event Link: http://saintbrewis.com/event/beer-geek-fest-2016/ |
Why You Should Go: For the very low cost of FREE you'll be able to sample beers from 24 breweries and mingle with some like-minded folks at one of the city's premier bottle shops. There will be rare beers and food vendors to keep your interest all day long. For being just the second time they've hosted this event, the folks at CBC Clayton look like old pros who know exactly what you want. |

Event: Narrow Gauge Beer Dinner |
Brewery: Narrow Gauge Brewing Company |
Location: Cugino's Italian Bar and Grill |
Date: Tuesday, August 2 |
Time: 6pm - 9pm |
Event Link: http://saintbrewis.com/event/narrow-gauge-beer-dinner/ |
Why You Should Go: If you haven't heard of Narrow Gauge yet, it's just a matter of time. Bursting onto the scene this year and making waves with their hoppy, turbid IPAs, they are gaining a following quickly. Couple that in with the fact that they brew out of Cugino's Restaurant which serves top notch food and now you have two reasons to go there for a beer. |

Event: Class of 2011 Collaboration Tour |
Brewery: Perennial, 4 hands, Civil Life and Urban Chestnut |
Location: ALL 4 BREWERIES! |
Date: Wednesday, August 3 |
Time: 5pm - 9pm |
Event Link: http://saintbrewis.com/event/class-of-2011-collaboration-tour/ |
Why You Should Go: 2011 was a damn fine year in STL. On top of the Cardinals winning another World Series, 4 breweries opened their doors to our city. Each of these 4 breweries are stepping out of their comfort zone and taking a page from the other three to make a beer they've never made before. You'll need to visit each brewery to try them all BUT transportation is FREE form Crooked Craft Brew Tours! The beers include an India Brown Ale from Urban Chestnut with yeast from Civil Life, El Dorado & Galaxy hops from 4 Hands, flaked oats & chocolate spelt from Perennial. A Pilsner from 4 Hands with yeast from UCBC. A Dry-Hopped Kolsch from Perennial with Galaxy hops from 4 Hands, Mandarina Bavaria hops from UCBC. And finally a Double American IPA from Civil Life. |

Event: Katy Fruit Salad |
Brewery: 2nd Shift Brewing |
Location: Exit 6 Brewery |
Date: Monday, August 1 |
Time: 6pm - 9pm |
Event Link: http://saintbrewis.com/event/katy-fruit-salad/ |
Why You Should Go: If you have yet to try Katy from 2nd Shift, now's the best time in the WORLD to do so. Not only can you try the original, but you'll be able to sample the Peach Katy, the Apricot Katy, the Cherry Katy and even the Blackberry Katy. And did we mention that these beers don't hit distro so this may very well be the only chance you'll have to try them? Do yourself a favor and make the trek out to the burbs. If you're lucky, Exit 6 will still have some of their Chanukha in Kentucky in July on draft from their event on July 29th. That's an 8% ABV brew that was aged for a year in Jim Beam & Heaven Hill barrels. |
